Gamepad support
« on: January 13, 2016, 01:53:59 PM »
Greetings Otter community!!

I wanted to ask whats the best way to implement gamepad input in a game? I have the official Xbox 360 controller and a 3rd party USB gamepad. Can anyone give an advice?

You can look at the classes called "ControllerXbox360" "ControllerPS3" "Controller", you should have access to them simply including Otter.
As to how you could use them. It seems like Otter already handles all the inputs and you could easily use the "Button"s that it provides and also the various "Axis".
With the axis and buttons you can check if they are triggered/pressed on your Update method or you can use some of the Otter classes to handle movement such as "PlatformingMovement".
I higly recommend looking into the classes mentioned above.
Hope it helped!
